Int’l Quran Recitation Session Held at Imam Reza (AS) Holy Mausoleum
Quran reciters, religious figures and scholars from Iran and a number of other countries, including Afghanistan, India, Indonesia, Bahrain, Lebanon, Algeria, the Republic of Azerbaijan and Pakistan attended the spiritual event.
It began with recitation of verses from the Holy Book by internationally-acclaimed Iranian Qari Hamid Shakernejad and was followed by a number of speeches, recitations and Tawasheeh songs.
In his address, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Jalal Hosseini, an official with the Astan Quds- custodianship of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine- underlined the need for paying attention to the Holy Quran and said the opportunity made available by the establishment of the Islamic Republic to promote Quranic sessions and programs should be tapped.
He also highlighted the capacities of the Astan Quds in Quranic, research and scholarly fields.
Next, the Bayyinat Tawasheeh group from Afghanistan performed Tawasheeh songs and Annar Muhammadev from Azerbaijan Republic recited verses from the Quran.
Also addressing the program was Member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts Ayatollah Abbas Ka’abi who stressed that the Quran provides a comprehensive plan for life and salvation of humanity, stressing that rebuilding the Muslim Ummah is only possible through the teachings of the Quran and Ahlul-Bayt (AS).
Later in the program, Ruhollah Hashemi from Afghanistan recited verses from Surah Al-e Umran and then Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Javad Moraveji Tabasi who has authored 14 books on the life and teachings of Imam Reza (AS) was honored for his achievement.
