According to WAM news agency, Muslim Al-Mansouri, the director of Human Affairs and Development Committee of the UAE’s embassy in Lebanon, said that the plan was implemented on the 25th and 26th of the holy month of Ramadan.
The Islamic Awqaf (endowments) Office affiliated to the Dar-ol-Ifta of Lebanon distributed the copies of the Divine Book aiming to support peaceful coexistence and moderation, it said.
Sheikh Mazin Al-Qouzi, head of the Office of Mosques’ Affairs in Lebanon, thanked the UAE’s government for cooperating with the Awqaf Office in the charity plan and said that the Quran copies have been distributed among 600 mosques in eight provinces of Lebanon.
He added that the plan was a part of the joint previous cooperation with Lebanon’s Dar-ol-Ifta in financial supporting of the imams of mosques, and orphans and providing humanitarian aid for those in need in Syria, Palestine and Lebanon.
