The two Moroccans were praised for their ability to recite, memorize and interpret the entire Holy Quran. The contestants received certificates and financial prizes.
During April’s international competition, Moroccan Said Fafa managed to win the Memorial Prize for his ability to recite and interpret all of the Quranic verses, while his fellow countryman Hamza Al Aasry was named winner of the Holy Quran Memorial Prize as well as his interpretation of Quranic verses on jihad.
Approximately 60 contestants representing 43 nations competed for prizes in the competition.
The results were released on April 11 at the end of the 24th International Competition of the Holy Quran. The contest was organized in Cairo by the Egyptian Ministry of Endowment.
