Quranic Session at Abdul Azim Hassani (AS) Shrine on Longest Night of Year
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran recitation session was held at the mausoleum of Hazrat Abdol Azim Hassani (AS) in Rey, near Tehran, on Thursday, marking Yalda.
A number of prominent Iranian Qaris recited verses from the Quran at the event.
Yalda or Shab-e Chelleh is a Persian festival celebrated on the longest night of the year.
Yalda is a winter solstice celebration on the night of the Northern Hemisphere’s winter solstice.
Every year, on this night, which fell on Dec. 21 this year, Iranians celebrate the arrival of winter, the renewal of the sun and the victory of light over darkness on Yalda Night.
