TEHRAN (IQNA) – The son of late Egyptian Quran master Sheikh Mohamed Basyuni says he hopes to recite the Quran in different countries in the world.

Speaking to al-Yawm al-Sabi website, Osama Basyuni said his father had been invited to countries like Canada, the US, India, Singapore, Algeria, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Lebanon, Britain, Bangladesh and Bahrain for recitation of the Quran.

“I have not been invited by other countries yet but I have travelled to many provinces across Egypt so far,” he said.

Osama added that he hopes to recite the Quran elsewhere in the world as well, like his father.

He also said he seeks to enter Egypt’s Quran radio as a Qari just like his father who joined the radio in 1976.

As for his Quranic life, Osama said he started memorizing the Quran at an early age, practicing his Quranic skills with his grandfather.

“I would also go to Quranic events with my father and listen to his recitations.”

He later started learning Quran recitation and the first time he recited verses from the Quran was in a memorial service in the city of Tanta in 2005.

His performance drew a lot of applause and soon people began inviting him to different ceremonies and programs for Quran recitation.
