Iran Judiciary’s Quran Competition Kicks Off in Tehran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The final stage of the 6th Quran competition for Iranian Judiciary’s staff and family members got underway in the capital Tehran on Wednesday.

  

As many as 225 contenders compete in different categories of the Quranic event.

They have qualified for the final stage from among 16,000 individuals who took part in the first round.

Some 65 percent of this year’s contestants are men and 35 percent are women, ISNA reported.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Kazem Bahrami, a senior judiciary official, hailed the efforts made for promotion of the Quran among the staff. 

He also noted that the number of participants in this year’s edition of the contest has almost doubled compared to the last year’s.
