TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) noted with concern growing Islamophobia in many parts of the world.

The OIC summit in Mecca said in its final statement on Saturday that Islamophobia “as a contemporary form of racism and religious discrimination continues to grow in many parts of the world, as evident by the increase in incidents of religious intolerance, negative stereotyping, and hatred and violence against Muslims”.

Elsewhere, the OIC said it condemns any position adopted by an international body that supports prolonging occupation of Palestinian territories, including a US decision to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as the Zionist regime of Israel’s capital.

The statement said the organization opposes all illegal Israeli measures aimed at changing facts in occupied Palestinian territories including Quds, and undermining the two-state solution.

It urged member countries to take “appropriate measures” against countries that move their embassies to Quds, Reuters reported.

The OIC also refused to accept any proposal for peaceful settlement that did not accord with Palestinians’ legitimate inalienable rights, the final statement said.
