TEHRAN (IQNA) – A workshop for teachers of summer Quranic courses in Iraq was held in the holy city of Karbala earlier this week.

The Quran Institute of the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine organized the three-day educational program at “Imam Hassan (AS)” hall of the shrine.

It was attended by 60 teachers of the holy Quran.

Sheikh Mohammad Al-Anbari, supervisor of the summer Quranic courses planned to be held by the Astan said that Quran teaching methods and how to explain Quranic concepts in a simple language to students were the themes of the workshop.

Besides Quranic teachings, the summer courses will include lessons on Islamic jurisprudence, ethics, Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Islamic beliefs.

Last year’s summer courses organized by the Astan in Karbala and other provinces of Iraq were attended by 180 students.
