Quran Exhibition, Seminar Planned in India’s Hyderabad

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran exhibition and a seminar of Quran interpreters will be held in Hyderabad, India, next month, the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in the South Asian country announced.

 

Hojat-ol-Islam Mahdi Mahdavipoor told IQNA that the three-day exhibition will run from June 22 to 24 at Salar Jung Museum of the city.

The seminar of Iranian and Indian Quran interpreters will be organized on the first day of the exhibition, he added.

The Quran and Etrat Deputy of Iran’s Islamic Culture and Guidance Ministry, the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), and Iranian Consulate in India as well as 10 organizations and institutes from Hyderabad will participate at the seminar.

The participants will discuss the interpretations of the Holy Quran written in Iran and India, Hojat-ol-Islam Mahdavipoor said.

He added that some rare and precious Quran copies of the two countries and the most important Quranic works published in the past 40 years in Iran will be presented at the exhibition.

“Since it is the first time that such an exhibition sis going to be mounted in India, we expect that it will have some 10000 visitors from all over India and other countries.”

He added that 10 Quranic institutes and 47 libraries of India have been invited to present their Quranic manuscripts at the exhibition.

The Salar Jung Museum is an art museum located at Dar-ul-Shifa, on the southern bank of the Musi River in the city of Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It is one of the three National Museums of India.

It has a collection of sculptures, paintings, carvings, textiles, manuscripts, ceramics, metallic artifacts, carpets, clocks, and furniture from Japan, China, Burma, Nepal, India, Persia, Egypt, Europe, and North America. The museum's collection was sourced from the property of the Salar Jung family, after whom it is named. It is one of the largest museums in the world.
