Virtual Quran Exhibition Planned
Asked about the cancellation of the Tehran International Quran Exhibition this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, Abdol Hadi Feqhizadeh told IQNA that preparations have been underway to hold a virtual exhibition.
He said that according to initial estimates, the online expo would likely be held during the Ten-Day Dawn celebrations marking the victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in February.
The final decision about the date of the expo will be taken in two weeks, the official added.
He noted that the virtual expo will continue even after the Tehran International Quran Exhibition is mounted again like previous years after the end of the pandemic.
As for other Quranic programs of the Quran and Etrat Deputy, Feqhizadeh said a program to honor Iran’s veteran Quran activists is planned to be held in a few months.
The novel coronavirus, known as COVID-19, has infected more than 35 million people around the world.
The outbreak has had a major impact on global sporting, cultural, religious and political events, with a host of events canceled or postponed.
The Tehran International Quran Exhibition is annually organized by the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in the holy month of Ramadan but this year it was called off due to the pandemic.
The exhibition is aimed at promoting Quranic concepts and developing Quranic activities.
It showcases the latest Quranic achievements in the country as well as a variety of products dedicated to the promotion of the Holy Book.
